Joint project with James Goodwin (editor, and the interview with the director in LA) and commissioned and produced by Ray Costa. I shot the stuff at Abbey Road – on a snowy day in January.

Happy Easter

‘The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said…”‘
Matthew 28:5,6
HAPPY EASTER everyone!

Colin Carr

A couple of photos from the December 2012 shoot for Wigmore Hall Live with cellist Colin Carr:

Chris O’Dowd

Sorry for blatant name-drop but it was exciting to get to photograph Chris O’Dowd today… I’m a big fan of IT Crowd and also I thought he was excellent in a very different role in the surprisingly touching film Bridesmaids.

The King’s Singers

Congratulations to The King’s Singers on their Carnegie Hall concert last night.

Plus I got a little kick out of seeing my photo used on the poster… thanks Chris B!

Ensemble 360

Lovely to see the amazing and versatile Ensemble 360′s brand new website

ensemble360.co.uk

and to be reminded of a really fun and rewarding four days working with them in Spring 2011 in Sheffield. Happy memories; we were treated so well by the client.

Gramophone magazine

Great to work for Gramophone, soon to be 90 years old, for the very first time today and to meet the current and past editors…

Huge thanks to the Pip Eastop, awesome french horn player as well a great photographer, for trying out his new Fuji X-E1 on me and sending me these rare photos of me in action at a recent scoring session in Abbey Road Studio 1.

The Fuji X-E1 is a great camera – Pip let me have a play too. I was really impressed.  Cheers Pip! Ben :)

ps pretty sure this is you in this pic…?

Alan Silvestri

… a privilege to photograph and meet Alan Silvestri, the composer responsible for a huge number of successful and beautiful film & TV scores of the last decades, at a session at Abbey Road last night. Despite being the last orchestral of a number of days of recording the atmosphere was happy and calm and they finished early, something I have never witnessed before in over ten years of photographing scoring sessions…

I’ve had a run of film scoring sessions in the last weeks working with Howard Shore, Atli Örvarsson, Aaron Zigman, John Debney and Alan Silvestri and will be back at Abbey Road again in a few days to work with Mark Isham.

Christian Blackshaw

What a treat to spend a day photographing the pianist Christian Blackshaw for Wigmore Hall Live on Wednesday. His Mozart series was a huge success critically and with audiences so the CDs will be hotly anticipated…

Peter Jablonski

A treat today to see and work with Peter Jablonski again after a few years. Plus got an excellent introduction to Lutoslawski, who Peter actually met when he was 18, and in particular the piano concerto.
